I'm sure this has been asked before but I wasn't able to find a post about it anywhere. I'm wanting to add an A2 buttstock to my bushy XM15 carbine. Is there anything special that I need to order with the exception of the new stock, tube, and spring? I essentially want to see if this is plug and play or if I will have to make any other modifications. I appreciate any help in advance.

This. It's plug and play. As long as you have the A2 stock, rifle tube, A2 spacer, stock screw, and rifle buffer and spring, you're G2G.

They handle much differently with a fixed stock and for whatever reason feel more compact, obviously not so.

Sputnik, I got to use one of my buddies rifles with an A2 stock on it the other night and loved it. Like you said, feels more compact but isnt. I just love the way they feel and I prefer the looks over an adjustable.
