This has been bugging me for a LONG time....... what is the difference between a Picatinny rail and a Weaver type rail? It seams that as far as scope rings are concerned they are the same. Thanks for your help........maybeI can get some sleep now.

I'd be interested in hearing the answer as well.
I believe the difference is the channel that runs down the center of the weaver rail. Both have the dove-tail, but the Pic has solid bars that run all the way across. The weaver rails have a cut in the them.

That is the same thing that I've been thinking. I guess I could do some measuring and see what that shows.
