A while back, someone here asked if "M4" appeared anywhere on the LE6920 HB rifles.
I had responded "no" but today I saw the pic in this now-closed gunbroker auction www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=23916769 "M4" is stamped on the front of the upper just below the removable handle. I pulled my LE6920HB out of the gun safe to see it for myself, and mine has it to. So I stand corrected.  I was wondering, though...do the regular 6920's have the same marking? Scott |

Yes they do
I understand that the M4 marking denotes the flat top carbine receiver. |

All of the LE 6920's I've used and seen have hade the M4 stamp.

They are also on the MT6400C which is the "pre ban" civilian version without the evil features.

I put a Knights RAS on one last night for a LE friend.
Marked M-4 above the gas port cloverleaf and 4 on the barrel extension at 3 o'clock. Had a shaved carrier in this one. Danny |

I added the evil features to my 6400C for less than 200 bucks bringing the total to around 1200 bucks. HALF of what the LE model sold for and its the same damn thing in my opinion, minus LE scratched in the side; who the hell is paying 2400 for these AR's! |

I got an MT6400C for $1200 also with the evil features installed but dumped it. Probably still paid a bit much for the LE6920HB ($1295) but nowhere near the $2k+ some people are forking out. The MT6400C I got just wasn't in the same fit/finish class as the LE6920. Side by side and by feel the MT I got was comparable to an AK-47 (flame on). It's probably a rare dud but a dud nonetheless. Hope you got a good one. Colt's QC inspector must have been asleep when my MT went by. |

Correct me if I am wrong, but the "M4 on the front of the upper" is simply a factory designator that means your specific receiver has m4 feed ramps---My MT6731 has those markings as well even in it's neutered state.
