This forum is a little busier than the build section so I'll ask here.
Decided I need to buy my own armors wrench for builds (my castle nut came loose again so it's getting staked this time)

Any ideas on which I should get?  Looking at these:
Aim tool
TARW

I am thinking the TARW but not sure what the extra loop is at the end, if I need it, or how good that wrench is.

I have the combo wrench from Aim, but if I need new tools today, I will get the ones from Spike's.

Ever seen the Hammerhead ? It has a 4 point Castle nut wrench and other features.
I have the Hammerhead plus a DPMS multi tool. I like the Hammerhead castle nut tool the most unless you find an Ar where the butt-head installed the nut backwards. You then have a need for the more common one or two pin castle nut tool which often cause problems when a pin breaks.

Also check the link. Castle Nut Wrench

I haven't read anything on this in the build threads - what are the drive holes for?  When would I use them?

Torque wrench attachment points, so you can torque to spec.

I use the Hammerhead, best tool I've ever use for tightening the castle nut.  I highly recommend it.  I use a DPMS multi-tool for the barrel nut, it's not bad, but nothing spectacular.

Anyone got a pic doing this?  I could see how it could work but also question how well it would work because now you have two rotational points.  It obviously must work because that is how it's done but I am having a hard time understanding the geometry and physics that it does work.

Specifically doing *what*?

There are several answers floating around that you may refer to as 'this'.

If you're referring to the torque wrench action, the torque wrench and tool are in-line, and you don't use the ratchet feature.

If you're referring to something else: Carry on.

Sorry for the lack of specification, I was referring to using the torque wrench and tool.  I follow how you described it, in-line and non-ratchet type or feature is used.  Got it.

Well that's what I end up ordering since Palmetto was out of the TARW ones.
