Hello I need some advice. I am looking for a cheap AR upper. I ordered a DS Arms upper in 16inch and my order is on permanent hold. I take that as I will not receive it for an unknown time being a month to whenever. Has anybody else seen this?

I am therefore starting to look for a different upper in a somewhat similar price range and quality. I just want it to finish off my first build.

Thanks

By the time you add the BCG and charging handle to the $275 DSA you're getting close to $425.

The Spike's unit from AIM is $499, and includes a BCG, CH, buffer, MOE and shipping. It's a wash on price, and Spike's and AIM both have the rep for customer service.

You can pinch pennies, but they end up getting spent on the stuff you shoulda bought anyway.

I'm sure Bravo has got something similar, but I can never keep track of what's in stock, their stuff moves fast.

DSA has the chrome lined barrel version for $325. Add a Rock River Arms chrome BCG for $130 (on sale for a while now) and a Badger Tactical equipped charging handle for $23 for $478 total.
Better spec, easier to clean, longer lasting and around the same price as the Spikes with shipping.

or

Legal Transfers has the Stag 2H on sale for $504 shipped and you get the rear sight to boot

+1

don't really feel like brand warring it tonight, but I am definitely interested in hearing some technical data on what makes that one a better spec.

lets do this

I didnt want to start a brand war, i was just looking to figure out how to get a decent priced upper due to my order with DSA being on permanent hold.

You didn't start anything. It's just an Arf-discussion.
