Hey Gang,
AR Perf. lists various finishes for their barrrels can anyone explain Liqui-Blast, S-Carb finishes to me? Additionally, why flute a barrel and lastly is pinning the gas block necessary?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Link to their website ARP

Fluting cuts down on weight, that's pretty much it.

Thanks Bob any idea about the finishes they don't really go into detail in their website as far as the advantages of the two processes.

I think the liqui-blast is similar to a bead blast, which removes the glossy finish and leaves a matte finish.  You don't want shiney stuff in the woods.
S-Carb is a surface treatment for stainless that hardens the metal a few 0.001" deep inside and out.  It makes your barrel last longer.
It is similar to nitrocarburization for carbon steels, but S-Carb is optimized for stainless steels.

Fluting also increases the surface area of the barrel which increases it's ability to disipate heat faster...

I'd give them a call and ask.  It's a small operation but it wouldn't hurt to ask.  They're also about to throw an ad up in SHOTGUN News so I'd call before that happens.  Good looking ad, too.
