I just bought a Colt Sporter Light weight With a colaspable stock. I was wondering what the difference is between the AR-15 and the sporter? My barrel is stamped C 1/7 5.56 NATO.
Which is better. It is a preban. Thanks Jimmi

Yours is indeed a pre-ban.  Generally speaking an ar-15 does not have a blocked lower, while a sporter does.  However, when it comes to Colt every general rule seems to have an exception.  Unless you plan on coverting to full auto with a RLL or RDIAS the blocked lower is no big deal.
