I am looking for a gunsmith or a shop that works on the AR's. I have called a few in Newport News, Hampton area and they dont touch them. I need to install a 20" heavy barrel on a new receiver.

Dominion Shooting Range, 804-276-2851, in Richmond, VA apparently has a gunsmith onsite that does AR work.

you guys know of anybody west of richmond?? i live in the shenandoah valley and all of the gun stores around here just sell bolt actions and shotguns.  i went to a local store just the other day and started asking ar questions and the old man just stared at me blankly...and said, "do what?".

guess i'm stuck ordering online.

way up north here in the shenandoah (Winchester) there's a place called Bly's jewelers. They are the AR specialists in this region. John Bly is the owner, he also runs a machine shop called Fabritek. Still a pretty good drive for you though.
