I picked up a barrel extension today at a gun show...I can see that it is 16 TPI, but what size diameter is it???

It looks like it might be 13/16 x 16 TPI...Which I have never heard of...

...???...

No, looking at the drawing from an old NRA article titled "Heavy Match Barrel Enhances AR-15 Accuracy",, with pic of Experimental M16A1 match rifle built by USMC Armorers at Quantico in '72. Give step by step instructions to machine an AR/M-16 barrel from a blank.

Per ARDEC Drawing 9349054 for the current 20" A2 barrel, the specified barrel thread for the extension interface is ".8125-16UN-3A-MOD"
