What are the important things to look for in a 9mm AR15?

So far I see Colt, RRA, and Oly Arms making 9's.

1) Are there other manufacturers?

2) More important:  What are the important things to look for?  For example,  what's up with the magazine well controversy?

I'm going to buy a 9mm.  I like Colts, really and truly, but don't like their policy towards civilians, and don't necessarily want a LEO only lower.  Ive been loking at RRA but hear complaints about the way the lowers set up.

Help me out, Please.

Thanks,

Rick

Gents, atleast you have the option of buying a Colt. Since I live in the state they are manufactured I can't buy a Colt marked AR-15 we still have an AWB. Only Match Targets for us.  However, my OLY 9MM has proven itself by being reliable and accurate.

Is Colt the only one that has a bolt hold open?

What are the differences in the mag block systems?

No, Hahn Precision has several options for both Oly and Colt style 9mm mag blocks.  And you dont have to ruin a lower by putting holes in it.  Hahn is supposed to have better blocks than RRA or the Brownells crap.  I beleive they have 2 options that hold the bolt open on last round if your using colt mags.

NO . There is slight differences in blocks. I have a RRA  bottom loading block in my build and it works just like the Colt guns. U can builda gun yourself for alot cheaper then the Colt guns. I spent about $800 on my gun in the start until I added the FF rail on other goodies. HAHN FROM BROWNELL U can find them cheaper elsewhere THe RRA is a great block I have had no problems with mine since using COLT mags and BETA.

Anybody have any personal experience with the Beretta Storm?

I have a truck load of magazines, and it is light with some nice features. The barrel isn't threaded but it could be to accept a can.

I've been focusing on the AR platform for uniformity, but think I should keep an open mind.
