Just rteceived my ARMS #40.  I noted that it came with no instructions.

Mounting on flattop is not a problem, however, I would like to know what the notch is for in the rear sight.

Is there an online manual for this item?

Theoretically, the notch is for engaging targets in the 500-600 yard range.  See www.armsmounts.com/list.html#40

I think it ruins the sight picture, and replaced the apreture with a standard A2 ($8 from Bushmaster).
