Which is better of the two, the ARMS #40 BUIS or the GG&G line of flip up back up sights. I never seen anyone with the ARMS. I have the ARMS and I love it but I always see rifles with the GG&G on them. What does everyone think?

I have a GG&G cantilever with an aimpoint that seems to cowitness with the #40 BUIS ok.

Do yourself a favor and stick with the ARMS 40. Many people, including me, have wasted a lot of money on other BUIS only to find out they all seem to fall short of the ARMS 40...

I have found that 90% of magnified optic's I have used and tried, do fit over the #40, and the ones that don't, will, with the next ht. in rings. The 40 is no doubt the best one out there. Good shootin, Jack

Have had both and used both for about 3 years now. The #40 is the best flip up rear on the market now. There are other good ones out there, and the MAD sight is among them. But the #40 is, by far, the most feature rich and user friendly design available.

where's the best place to get different aperatures (A1, A2, same plane) to replace the horizon line one that came with the arms 40?

I bought a couple of the same planes from Brownells.

The ARMS #40 is now available with a standard A2 apperature if you would like to have that. If you already have one and want an apperature, you can get a standard A2 from almost any manufacurer for very chaep. Got mine @ Bushmaster. For the record, I got mine to replace an A1 apperature in an A1 upper I have. I actually like the horizon line in the #40.

Hey Jack, I asked a little while back about using a Leupold LR M3+ #35 base+ #35 mediuim rings with a #40 and was told it will not work. So with that I'm looking at the MAD!

I had a MAD, and liked it, but it doesn't offer the spring-loaded body and can be knocked backwards inadvertently. Otherwise it's a valid option.

the new MAD locks open and a tritium insert is available.http://www.gggaz.com/products/madbuis.php

Either will work. The #40 is a better "combat" sight while I think the MAD is a bit more precise with the smaller apertures.

Does the ARMS #40 fit in combination with the ACOG TA01NSN on a M4?

It could be anywhere from REAL close to not going to fit with the Trijicon mount. With the ARMS 19 or better yet 19S, it will fit. Still close, but it fits.

Generally, they will not fit under the Trijicon TA51 mount, although it is so close sometimes it works. No problem with an ARMS 19 or 19S.
