I want a throw lever mount for my TA01NSN ACOG I have coming. Whats the difference between these 2 mounts?
Link Posted: 4/14/2003 8:22:30 AM EDT
ARMS #19S for TA01 and TA31 ARMS #19a for TA11 and TA55

One throw lever (#19S) vs two throw levers (#19ACOG). I think you will find the #19S an excellent choice for your TA01NSN, cheaper too.

Anyone know where the ARMS #19s can be found? Can't seem to find it at SableCo, SWFA, etc.

The 19A is the universal mil-std dovetail rail combined with the NATO STANAG attachment. The 19ACOG (is not the 19A), made only for ACOG and other devices that orig. were made to also fit into the carry handle. Good shootin, Jack

The #19S is somewhat new and may not be listed on all sites. But contact anyone who carries ARMS stuff and ask for it by name. they should know just what you're talking about.

When I got mine, MSTN was the only place that had even heard of the #19-S.

Dredging this one back up... Any reason not to get the original 19ACOG? Sure the 19S is shorter and cheaper, but wouldn't the dual throw levers be more secure?

Wes, You're the man for this... Can you post pics of a #19S next to a #19ACOG? I bet pics of both in use would be welcomed, too.

19S pics are everywhere, but just try to find one of the standard #19. Here are a few pics of both: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=158574 It appears that the dual throw lever 19ACOG offers no advantages over the smaller, single lever 19S, correct?

Is it possible to mount the TA11 in the 19 more forward or more rearward and still have the entire base of the TA11 not hanging off the edge of the mount the way it will in a 19S? Is this what the picture depicts? Also, if you stuck an ARMS 40 in there would it butt up against the 19 in the current position the 19 is in, in the pic?

Does noone have any answers? [:(]

Here is my rifle with an original 19Acog. It is just a standard 19 with 4 holes drilled into the bottom. This is a TA-11 mounted onto it. Here is the same set up on a Swan Sleave from a few years back. The pics are bad but you get the idea.
