Can not figure out which one to go with, either the Aimpoint with 3x Magnifier or a TA11B?

Both have Both Eyes Open shooting capabilities and weigh about the same (when 3x Magnifier is mounted).

Reticle size is very similar in MOA, but the shapes are distinctly different. The TA11B has somewhat of range estimating reticle, but not much for BDC. Although the Aimpoint reticle is a tad faster to acquire.

Just going to be shooting surplus thru the chrome-lined barrel, so I expect accuracy to be about 1.5 moa @ 100 yards with either optic system.

What would you do?

I went with the TA11E when I was in your position. Mainly because I liked having the magnification without needing something else on the rifle and I don't have to rely on batteries.

I went with a TA11E on my AR10 and liked it very much...although I have since changed to a NXS 2.5-10. I found the greater magnification was more of an advantage for my needs than the BAC of the TA11. I would think in an AR10 the TA11 would better serve you than an Aimpoint. I would also explore other reticle options. I really like the chevron but would suggest looking at the D model (triangle).

I had a TA11E on my AR10. I think the Trijicon TA11E and the Leupold MR/T 1.5-5x20 M2 with the SPR reticle are both excellent choices for the AR10.

When considering an optic for the AR10, generous eye relief must always be considered, as the .308 has more recoil than the .223.

The advantage of the MR/T 1.5-5x20 is that it will be a little more precise due to the higher magnification and more precise reticle.

I would love to go with the Leupold MR/T 1.5-5x20, but I all ready have the TA11B or Aimpoint available for the AR10. After some careful thought, I believe the TA11B will be better suited for the AR10. The eye relief on the 3X magnifier is really not that AR10 friendly. When my hard drive went tits up about two months ago I lost the email from Trijicon with the subtension of the TA11B reticle. Guess it will not be too hard to ask them again.
