Hello all...

Just recently aquired an ACOG carry handle mount TA01 and LOVE IT

My question however is, the manual recommends drilling a hole in the carry handle for a second mounting screw (which can be purchased from Trijicon)...how necessary is this? The thing has been pretty rock-solid as is...I would rather not drill a hole in my AR, but if it increases reliability would not have a problem doing so...please advise...

Thanks,
Manji

I have not done this, and I don't plan on drilling another hole in my carry handle.  The scope is solid enough without it.

Use some blue loctite on the mount screw and you should be fine.

I have seen a lot of TA01's mounted on carry handles but I have never seen anyone that drilled the extra hole.

I have a TA01, and I did not drill the second hole.

5K + rounds later, it still sits there.
