ACOG's have very short eye relief. Is there a mount that will allow placement of the scope further toward the rear and still allow a BUIS? In order for me to see the full field of view thru the scope I have to shorten up on the collapsible stock considerably. This is ok for short range shots but not longer range shots.

think this is the first i have heard of this.

would explain it better if you told us how and on what you were mounting the acog on.

with my ta31's i actually have it slightly mounted forward along with the buis about two slots

I'll back him up.

I've got a 01NSN on a accucam mount. Mounted as far back as possible without removing the rear site. It shores up about 3/4" short for me and I end up with nose just over the charging handle.

I've got the same issue on my ta-31rcoa4. The solution was to just go for a true clone of the usmc m16a4 and remove the buis.

TA31F mounted on a Bushmaster flattop.
Currently using an ARMS #40 BUIS and the original (included) mount.
The rear of the scope is postitioned just like Mike's and eklikwhoa's, just over the charge handle.

Like Cowboy and Devil I would have to shorten the stock or significantly gooseneck forward inorder to get the full field of view ( a very unnatural and uncomfortable gunmount).

I tried mounting the scope as far back as possible with the BUIS removed and obviously it was better but still required goosenecking with the stock fully extended. I am of average build and do fine with off the shelf rifles and shotguns.

I just checked the Trijicon web site and now see that the TA31F 4x32 only has 1.5" eye relief (vs. 2.4" for the 3.5x35 scopes). I guess I should have gotten a TA11F.

I bought my TA31F from CS gunworks. ?exchange policy? Purchased Sept. '05
