Hey AR Team, I'm new to the group and really appreciate the knowledge and experience many of you possess. Have any of you replaced your A2 butt stock with the ACE ARFX tube unit?  Looking for info regarding fit, function, and strength.  Pic's would be greatly appreciated.  Again thanks for the great stories and technical support.

Hey, Check out my post ten lines above yours entitled "Post Ban Sear Block and M4 opinions".  Cjan sent in some pics of his m4 with this stock, I think its awesome, but I cant find one with that small of a buttpad on the net.  All the ones Ive seen for sale have a 1" buttpad and look dumb, Cjan has about a half inch buttpad on his, Im wondering if he took it off of a full size ace stock and I also wonder if that half inch makes it shorter than the legal length? Installation is easy, fit and function are perfect and it's about the strongest stock design out for the AR.

P.S. Welcome to the board.

If I remember correctly, ACE is coming out with a new model stock that is even TOUGHER, but I think it still has to get approved by ATFE.  I can't find the picture, sorry!

My Ace came stock with the 1/2" recoil pad [:)]

I bought it here

As you will see in the product description it comes stock with the 1/2" recoil pad. It is perfectly legal at that length.

Standard 1/2" recoil pad:

Optional 1" recoil pad

I'm very happy with mine. It's extremely rugged and very comfortable.

Those ACE stocks look awesome.  Always on the watch for ways to upgrade my anodized, 5.56 friends.  Thanks for the help and pic's.  Great board, great members.

And just for the hell of it -

Model 1 Sales kits and parts are outstanding and resonably priced, LC 193 is the good stuff, Gun Shows are the best thing since sliced bread and the only thing better than hot pizza is left over cold pizza.

That 1" buttpad is starting to grow on me, didn't like it at first, but when I think about shooting with a 7.5 inch stock, a half inch could help a lot!

AK_Mike, You might be reffering to the SOCOM stock by ACE, they sell them on ebay, but they say that there not approved yet on post bans.  They look pretty cool, Im just wondering if it will be years or months before its approved?

FYI - The ARFX without the buttpad is A1-length.

Chris if your post was directed at me, that is true for the ARFX.  However I'm talking about the ARFX-E Entry 7.5 inch not 9.5, which is what Cjan has pics of here.

No, it wasn't directed at anyone, just an "FYI" note that I think is good to know about the standard ARFX.  [;)]

I wasn't aware of that-thank you for the info [:)] One of these days I'd like to put Ace stocks on my 20" A2 HBARs, but I've been fretting about the LOP on my scoped A2.
