As you all know the A2 stocks have this weird fuzzy texture to it, feels almost like silk.  Here's some questions that I have:

How did they make the surface that way?  

Is there an "do it yourself" way to duplicate this texture?

Why don't they do the same to the pistol grip and handguards?

This doesn't really answer your question, but not all the A2 stocks out there have that fuzzy texture. I believe some of the DPMS stocks (and maybe some others) are a harder finish/material without any fuzz.

hmm, but all stocks from military suppliers such as Colt and Bushmaster have this fuzzy texture if I'm not mistaken.
