Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - A1 Rear Sight on A2 Upper?

I have an A2 style upper with the A2 rear sights.

Can I buy an A1 sight kit, and change the windage knob to to the hard-to-adjust A1, by dropping in the parts?

No, the carry handles are different.  You'd have to swap out the whole upper receiver.


ETA:  I wonder if there is enough room in the A2 sight base to drill a hole for the A1 style detent?  I seriously doubt it.

apertures you can interchange, but that's it.
