I have see advertised on differnt sites ammo for sale and some say what the feet per second and the foot/pounds of energy is for that round.
What would be considered an average foot/pounds of energy for a 9mm round.I have two 9mm pistols, one is an original Colt Government model in 9mm, its about 20 years old and I have a new CZ75.Ive shot ammo with 345 foot/pounds and 430 foot/pounds in my CZ but would 430 be too much for the older Colt.
What is the +p 9mm rounds energy.
Can the colt and CZ handle the higher energy ok?
Any one got any experiance in this subject?

Ft/lbs - energy its all irrelavant.  What you really need to know is what is the size of the permanent wound channel (what will the round expand to) and will it make the 12" minimum?

This is a good place to start: http://www.firearmstactical.com/ammo_data/9mm.htm

This is another good place to look for that info: www.ammolab.com

I certainly don't know for sure, but I would be leary of shooting +p ammo in that older Colt.  I would ask in the Handgun forum if that weapon was designed to use the higher pressured ammo.

The CZ will be fine with +p.

BTW, like Forest says, ft/lbs mean nothing, really.  What you really need to be concerned about is the pressure.
