What would be a good source for a complete 10.5 " 9mm upper in A2 configuration? M1S, ASA , RRA, BM,..???
Thanks for any replies.

you're only options for an A2 10.5" 9mm would be M&A parts and J&T distributing . RRA doesn't make SBR length 9mm (however you could get it cut down). J&T and a few other places have Colt 10.5" 9mm uppers listed, but they have A1 sights.

edit: not sure what ASA has to offer, and bushy only has their carbon series.

legal transfers offers a flat top factory rra 10.5 in which you could get him to swap the upper reciever.

Yeah i've had my eye on the 10.5 that Legal Transfers has. I'll probally just end up selling this one and getting the 10.5 from him although the post in his thread last time i looked weren't too current so they might be gone. I'm just looking at the cheapest route, if i got an A3 i'd have to get a carry handle. There's a guy here that had a post and he said he'd shorten and rethread the barrel for $50.00 that's if i just send him the upper.Do you think that $425.00 shipped would be a good price for the upper? Just from looking at it i'd be surprised if it's had 100 rds through it. Thanks for the replies.

That's what I did. I had a RRA 9mm cut down to 10.5". There are no issues with function when cutting down the barrel because there is no gas port to have to resize.

Just buy one and have it cut down.

The big plus with a Colt barrel is that the Colt barrel is chromed lined. I don't know of any other manufacturer that sells a chromed lined 9mm barrel. Since I have heard that a steel barrel in 5.56 has a life of between 8-10,000 rds of use. And a chromed lined barrel has a life of 20-25,000 rds. I have heard the argument that 9mm goes almost 1/3 the speed of 5.56 so that chrome lining isn't necessary. To me it is a hunk of lead covered with copper rubbing against steel or chrome. The chrome is much harder and will resist wear. Yes, the RRA barrel is cheaper to buy. I bought my Colt 10.5" 9mm barrel for $250. You can buy a RRA 9mm barrel for $185 plus $50 to have it shortened. Even at dealer price of $160 + $50, the Colt will last much longer. Even if you could find a used like new RRA barrel, it isn't going to be half the price of the Colt. And the RRA won't last half as long. That doesn't seem like a good value. It is cheaper but isn't a good value. My $.02 worth.
