I am mapping out my SBR in my head, and wonder, if Im going short, why not go SHORT? Im paying the bribe, why not go 7.5?

keep in mind, this rifle "might" be used on soft targets. how ineffective would the 7.5 be?

although, I really like the look of the LMT 10.5s.......

The 7.5's I've seen are definitely sweet looking weapons.

If that is what you want, go for it.

As for the "soft targets" bit, I wouldn't worry about that either.  Yeah, yeah, "fragmentation" blah blah blah, I put more value in shot placement than I do in magic bullet performance.  Skip the FMJ military ammo and put the rounds where they count and everything will be fine.

The only possible down side is if you end up buying a suppressor as some aren't warranted to use on barrels under 10" or so.

whats the differnce the comedians will say 2.5"

the main difference to me is, there is only one silencer out there that is warranty'd on a sub 10.5" barrel. made by adco i think.

and im not sure on the performance of the silencer.

I know one Ranger that has a 7.5" it was a sweet gun too. Another SF guy who was getting one I think before his next deployment. They feel good enough to take them to war so draw your own conclusions. Although I'm with you I like the 10.5", if I ever get around to getting a SBR it will be a 10.5"

yeah, they are sweet, but heres what it boils down too: how much does adding 3" help?

I recently debated the same thing, I say go 10.5.
