Saw two remington bolt guns and they had 5 or 6 20 round boxes of remington ammo on the shelf

Becoming the norm. I picked up 4 cases of Remington 115gr OTM and some Silver State (to test) ammo last month at a fun show.  The Remington bolt gun, I have seen at a fun show yet.

I saw some today, too.  Kind of surprised me.  Marked $16.99.  What prices have you guys been seeing?

That's not as bad as I expected.  Pretty good, actually.

While in Des Moines a local outdoor store had Remington 6.8 SPC on the shelves for around 25.00 a box. I observed this six months ago, but was there recently and they still had a quanity.
Total availibility was probably between 100 and 200 rounds. This is the place I have ever seen 6.8SPC ammo in the flesh....incredibly unremarkable, especailly when I just got done fondling .50 BMG Amax's......

Anyone know if there's any truth to the rumor that Wolf may start producing 6.8?  I can't roll my own in my current living situation, and the price/availablility of 6.8 is the only thing that keeps me from buying an upper.

CO

Edit for speeling.

6.8 ammo is available thru Midway - Graff & Sons or Silver State Armory website. Three different loads 115 Garin FMJ - Sierra 115 grain Match King & 110 Grain Pro Hunter Soft Point. Both Sierra's will give you 1/2 MOA at 100 yards the FMJ will give you about 1 MOA.

Art, I will be giving some of your ammo a test this weekend (if work cooperates). The Remingtion SMK ammo I have gotten does better than 0.5MOA thru my 16.5" Douglas RECCE.  I have high expectations for your ammo, I have heard some good things.

If you are getting better than .5 MOA out of Brand 'R" you are doing really well as most people are not getting that. We are looking forward to an upcoming magazine article in which they ran side by side test with our ammo verse's the other brand, we seen the draft on we like the article very very much.

If you go to AR discussions and the thread 6.8 F.A.Q page 25. L-W rifle company posted their results from the range we like that one too.

I'll be buying a 6.8 upper when I can afford to feed it..

$17/20?

Too rich for my tastes, especially in a semi...

Now $17/50.. I could live with that..

Art, the SMK Remington loadings I have are about 6 months old. They are hard to get (at least for me) I have heard of reported significant varaitions in results (lot to lot). Since I can get only the Rem. OTM loads on a regular basis compared to the SMK, I posted my results as is. That is also why I posted I am testing your offerings in 6.8SPC and have high expectations. A notorious DocGKR recommended I try them.

BTW:I do frequent the 6.8 FAQ here and most 6.8 threads and on other forums.

Went to the gunshow today looking for 6.8 spc to stock up on. The ammo vendor purchased 48 cases of 6.8 spc three weeks ago and sold all of it in two weeks.
