Has anyone built a AR in 6.5x47 Lapua ? I found barrels for the AR 10, can the 6.5x47 Lapua on the AR 15 platform?? If you can I assume you would have to use the large lower? You guys that have built the 6.5 Grendal what is the difference in the cases and will the bolt that people use for the 6.5 G work?  I have a friend of mine that ran that by me and I told him that I would try and find out for him. I would like to think that I might build on of them someday, but I have a lot of work to do getting my 243WSSM shooting the way I want, and then there is allways that little thing they call MONEY
I will be very great full for any advice.

I don't have any experience on that but I know someone around here has. I saw it somewhere! Hope he sees this.

It would have to be on an a .308 AR-pattern rifle. It's too big for a normal system.

Very similar to .260 Remmington.

Thanks guys!!! I figured it would have to be on the 308 lower. will a standard upper fit the 308 lower? And if it does, where can i look for a barrel and complete BCG?
Thanks a lot guys.

308 lower is longer and wider... so, if by "standard" you mean a 5.56 upper, no, it will not fit on a 308 lower.

Have fun finding your $1.00-a-shot Lapua brass.

I run this caliber in a bolt rifle. I love the performance, but hate the cost. I cry like a baby when I loose a casing.

I would use the Creedmor in a semi-auto...

.
I know how you feel when the brass gets lost.
$1.00 brass sign me up!
My 510 Whisper uses 338 Lapua brass that is turned down on the lathe and
runs $6.00 each already made.
Thank god I turn my own and even then 338 brass isn't cheap especially when it gets tossed
by a semi auto..

I am very great full for the advice.
Thanks
