5.56 chamber mop to big ?

I picked up a 5.56/.223 chamber mop for my AR, but it's so tight it will only go in about half way and the flared part that is supopose tp clean the recess and back sides of lugs stops just befoe the front of the lugs . What gives ? They had several all marked as 5.56/.223 and all were the same size. Should it be that tight ? -Thanks

I had the same experience. Rechecked. Mop is for 223/556. Will not fit. I'ld like to know what's the deal, as well.

Chamber mops and brushes usually have to be rotated as they go in. They tend to act like a cork if you just push them in.

That's what I always do with mine is twist them clockwise on the way in and out. Never had any problem that way.

+1. Rotate clockwise so it won't loosen up off the rod
