Will 5.45x39 fit on regular 10rd GI stripper clips?
Can someone try it for me please?

A quick glance at the heads on the cases shows they are not at all in the same family and not likely to share the same stripper clip designs.

The rim diameter on the 7.62x39 is 11.35mm x 1.5mm and the 5.45 has 10mm x 1.5mm, so they are the same thickness but not nearly the same diameter.

The only  reason it will come close to working with a 5.56 stripper is that 5.56x45 has a rim diameter of 9.60mm x 1.14mm ( versus 10 x 1.50)

In English units, that is .378" versus .394".
20 mills may not seem like much, but it is more than enough to say they may not always work together unless the 5.56 stripper is on the loose side.

5.45x39 really does have its own unique stripper clip design.

Test ahead of time.

What is thir 'R' business?  This is not a rimmmed cartridge like 7.62x54R is.  And the 'R' ain't for Russian, its for rimmed.

You need AK-74 stripper clips to hold this round, Not M-16 stripper clips.

I've heard otherwise, I wonder which is right?

The "R" business was indeed for Russian thanks for correcting my obvious slang.
that spelling...

Now we know that they fit, but tight. so maybe a no go there.
One more test though from someone with the right stuff on hand.
Will 5.45x39 rounds in AK-74 stripper clips fit an AR 15 stripper clip spoon?
