Trijicon lists the eye relief on their 3x compacts as shorter than the 4x full size ACOGS!
Why is this?
I'm thinking of going with the 2x compact instead.

Trijicon is a little conservative about the eye relief. They list the 2x at 2.1", it's really not that bad. If you are really sensitve to eye relief, get the 2x. I own one and I wouldn't trade it for anything (maybe a TA-31[;)] )

Thanks, I will most likely go with the 2x. It kinda ticks me off though how they make the 3x eye relief sooooo short, it makes me go into conspiracy mode, thinking they are trying to push the sales of the more expensive 3.5x full sized ACOG's.

Whatever model you choose, you won't be dissapointed. What reticle were you planning on getting?

TA11 has a very generous eye relief, you should take a look see.

I've had no problem with my 3X's eye relief and I don't ride close to the bolt like I've seen on here. I'd say I've got a good 3"+ and others have shot it the same way with no one making a complaint. This is on a .45 AR, and generally inside of 25yards, but I don't see that making a difference. YMMV

Either the triangle or the dot, and I still cant decide on red or amber. Duffy I've considered the TA11 but it's $300 more expensive. I've decided to put that extra money into the other accesories I've been holding off on for so long.
