Thats a pain also....

Do yourself a favor and return it and pick up a single point sling from BlackHawk.  Much more versatile, easy to use, extremely comfortable and rugged.   Otherwise, I truly dont know the answer to your question, but I hope you know I am just trying to be humorous....

I just picked up a Giles tactical sling, go to the website of the manufacturer, www.thewilderness.com, they have photos and descriptions on using it. I like mine so far., very rugged.

Go to Spectergear.com, formerly CQB Solutions and look through their pictures of their slings.  If your sling is a CQB Solutions sling, call them and they will walk you through it.
