Will a 308 upper fit on any AR-15 5.56 lower??

do you need any modifacations to make it work? and finally what about magazines?

I'm sure these are basic questions but I don't know the anserws.  THANKS

Not as far as I know... that's the whole thing behind the .308 lower.  The rounds are too long for the stock AR-15 lower's mag well.

Mitchell has it right. You CAN NOT use .308 / AR10 upper or ammo on a AR15 lower.

Now they do make uppers chambered in 7.62 x 39 for the AR15's though.

If you have your heart set on a .308 cal AR, and you can handle something with a little less zip than the .308 Win, the .300 Whisper and .30 HRT are viable options...

What about a belt fed .308 upper- that could be done. We all know we can count on Ares LOL for that.
