Hi fellas,

Well, I finally made it out of the PROC (People's Republic of California) where I was interested in the AR but did not like the idea of a welded 10 rnd mag chamber.  If any of you are ever tempted to go west, don't!  That place is evil.

So I held off buying until I made it over the wall.  I found this web-site researching what I should get into, and man, it was most helpful.  You all really know your stuff.  I ended up with a Bushy A3 HBAR.  I know some of you don't like the HBAR but I like having a bit of extra mass up there.  Anyway, I paid a bit more than I could have.  Bought from the local gun shop, but the guy in there had also been very helpful, and wanted to keep the money local, support the small fella.

Anyway, I took her out for a spin and it was a blast to shoot.  Much different than your standard bolt guns.  After that I sucessfully and happily have infected myself with BRD and am now looking for a long barrel varminter.  Been looking around  and J&T and Fulton seem to have the best deal on complete uppers, something I could just drop into an A2 lower (will put in a match trigger at a later date).  I also am taken with the RRA and DPMS complete uppers.  About a 100$ difference between the former two and the later two, though.

It seems like I have read good stuff about all these brands.  But if anyone has any specific information on these types of rifles, I would appreciate the input.  I'm looking for something to give me 1 to less than 1MOA groups.  Typically the bolt guns I shoot, just standard Kimber and Rem 700 I can group in this range.  Looking for something similar out of this new guy.

Lastly, I am looking for places to shoot in proximity to the south of Denver area.  Been to the Cherry Creek range, which was ok, but would like some other options.

So, thanks again for all the previous information you guys provided, albeit unknowingly, and thanks for all the advice and info I will gleen in the future.

welcome!

I like RRA stuff.  There are a few good options for you though.  Otheres will give their input soon.  Oh, by the way, welcome to the United States (you did say you were from the country of Cali right?)

In that case, forget the AR, get a nice underfolder AK with a drum, take pictures of yourself holding it while wearing a Peace Through Superior Firepower shirts, and then distribute said pictures to all the anti-gun fruitcakes in PROC you personally know.

Welcome onboard!

As a Colorado member I suggest checking out the Colorado section here on ARFCOM under the Hometown Forums, and check out coloradoshooting.org/co-ar15.htmanother great site for AR enthusiasts.

Quite a few of us are members there as well.

Coloradoshooting.org has a forum dedicated to shooting spots.

Get the RRA. They guarantee 3/4" accuracy on their varmint uppers.
