Yep, about a buck a box cheaper. But don't forget that the stores will charge you sales tax.

Lousy price and only good for bolt guns, IME.

It was $4.99 a box and 10% off at Bass Pro a month ago. It is $5.99 a box there now.

It's just that your math is really bad AND your hallucinatuing

I like it.

Looks good stacked in my mags

Also, 349 is the shipped price.  Usually how muich does it cost to ship ammo?  Especially 1K of 5.56

Say shipping is "only' 20 bucks.  329 for 1K of 5.56 is approx 6.58/ea

It's approaching wally world's prices.  Actually, it's cheaper after tax.  6.97 for a box of UMC at wally world after TX's 8.25% tax

me too? The non military primer? Barrel twist? I bought a 1000 round by mistake last year and was favorably impressed with it.

Some were saying they got some with little or no crimp, and when firing it in an AR, they were experiencing bullet set back, a potentially dangerous situation.  I have, however fired many hundreds of UMC without a hitch.  But, from now on, I am running them through my LEE factory crimp die, just in case.  I like the stuff, the brass is good stuff if you reload.

FWIW, I got 1600 rounds of it a couple weeks ago from local retailers for $5.29 a box.  That was a good price for around here, especially since I only see it on the shelves about three times a year.

After finding a couple rounds with the bullet set back into the case a little, just due to handling and the crimp (or lack thereof), and having one of my guns shove a few more of them back, I don't want to use it anymore.  If I want cheap brass cased stuff, I use the Wolf (PP) M193, which has problems as well but has not for me in my guns and several thousand rounds, and it has a good crimp too.  Since the PP can be had for less than $300/1000, it is a much better brass-cased option IMO - it is far closer to military ammunition than UMC.

I love Remington UMC .223 I just bought another 660 rounds at walmart yesterday....

Let me clarify by saying I'm sure it works for many and maybe I got a bad lot, but I won't be buying it anymore at $350/K when there are other rounds out there that for me have functioned better and appeared safer.  Isn't $350/k what he had M193 for awhile back?  If you're going to spend that much, wait and see if he gets the M193 back in for close to that price.
