Finished up my first AR the other night.  Got alot of help and information from you guys, but I've got to admitt, assembling the lower went much easier than expected.  Don't think it took over an hour.  Will be test fireing it in a few minutes.
Went w/ PSA for the entire build as they had the best deals on the piieces I was looking for and had everything in stock.  Also they advertise products made in the USA.  Both receivers match excellent w/ fit and finish.  In fact, I have no complaints.  Hope it shoots as good as it looks.
The trigger is actually very nice.  Don't have a scale, but it feels pretty good and definatly usable.
Bought the MOE lower build kit in FDE on sale $125
Bought the Lower for $80 (missed the $15 sale)
Bought the midlength complete upper, 16" SS barrel 223 Wylde with the FF handguard and upper height gas block for $530
FFL fee was $0 thru a friend at the gun shop.
Total cost was $765, w/ shipping and insurance.
When I priced out the individual parts for the upper, it would have cost me over $150 more to buy the pieces and assemble myself, plus the cost of extra tooling.
The sights are off of my S&W M&P 15-22, but I do plan to add a scope.
Can't seem to post a pic, but I'll work on it.
Anyway, thanks for all the information on this site.  Was a big help.

Going to have to get some help w/ pics.
I did shot 30 rounds today to break in the barrel w/ lots of cleaning.
Even with open sights, it shows lots of promise.  I was able to put a 3 shot group into a 11/16" triangle at 50 yards for the last 3 shots.  Can't ask for much more than that.  No issues what so ever with function.
I officially love it!  Will work on pics.

There is no "break in" required for that barrel & it doesn't require lots of cleaning. I'm glad you're happy though. Congrats on the purchase.

I wondered about that.  Read that certain types of barrels don't require it.   What determines the difference?
Of the new rifles I have bought, I have done a break in cleaning pattern for each one and all of them can shoot 3/4" or less (some holes touching) for100 yard groups.  So I just figred it couldn't hurt.  I can't say that about all my rifles, but the one's I bought new will.  257 wby, 338 wm, and 22-250.  Most of mine have been used.  Next step is to fit a scope and see what it will do.

looks very good, I am using a PSA lower kit in my build right now, glad to hear about the trigger, will be a while before I can get an upper but going to go with PSA as well. How'd it do at the range?

About triggers.

Coming from a background of customizing 10/22s for fun, I have hand polished a lot of trigger groups.  I think I've probably done 8 or 10 at this point for friends.

Its pretty amazing what a bit of knowledge and a bit of 1000 grit paper can do to a trigger.  Sure, you won't turn it into a match grade trigger, but you can make a pretty awesome difference.

Just a thought.

Thanks again for posting my pictures.  The rifle shoot great.  1/2" groups at 50 yards and under an inch at 100.  Haven't worked real hard at groups yet.  I may play with the trigger alittle someday, but it's very shootable as is.
I'm very happy with Palmetto and their products.  Receivers fit and finish were perfect as were all the other parts.  No function issues of any kind.  I see the receiver is on sale now, and they offer a 24" barreled upper that would have been nice.  But this 16" barrel does what I wanted as far as accuracy, can't ask for much more.  Thanks for the comments.

I just finished my PSA lower with their MOE LPK in FDE and thier MOE stock kit in FDE. Went together like a dream used the instructions on here and watched a youtube video as I put it together. Now just saving some $$$$$$$ for thier 16" upper with a MOE hand rail.

This one is all PSA as well, based on the 16 inch stainless upper.

My all PSA build. I hope my wife doesn't find out about the 2 lowers I ordered during PSA's father's day sale.

Very nice, I like the MOE handguard looks and was going to use it, but went with the free floated rail system for accuracy.  Not sue what real world difference it makes, but my rifle shoots great.  I shopped around and couldn't find the parts I wanted at a better price than PSA.  Now they have some different sales, oh well.
