I'm putting together the parts to build an SBR project and am looking at different barrel manufacturers. Wilson Arms offers a 11.5" chrome-lined heavy barrel for $190 and Model 1 Sales offers their 11.5 for $180. Are these barrels a good buy? Both are 1:9 twist. I'd prefer a 1:7 if I could find one.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Clint

I'd suggest using either a Bushmaster or Colt barrel. The 11.5" barrels from other manufacturers don't always run very well. There are others that will probably work also, such as LMT, or CMMG barrels, but I have personally used Bushys and Colts and I know they work.

Go with CMMG, they have a chrome-lined 1/7 barrels that shoot real well

Where can I find a Colt or CMMG barrel? Model 1 barrels are made by E R Shaw. Isn't that the same manufacturer that Colt uses?

+1 for Bushmaster, Colt and CMMG barrels. CMMG barrels can be found here Most of CMMG barrels are with 1/7" twist IIRC.

All of them are very good choices + they are compatible with MilSpec goodies when some others are not without modifications.

Are A2 front and SP-1 rear sights going to be compatible? CMMG doesn't list a 11.5" barrel.

Check out the EE forum, lots of 11.5" lately

I watched a guy dump a Beta mag thru a Bushmaster 11.5 today. He said that he has many thru it and no sweat from the Bushmaster.

I only found one vendor with 11.5" barrels for sale. Yep,it was a Bushy.
I prefer a Colt barrel but a Bushy or CMMG will be fine, too.
