Nope, you don't need a barrel with feed ramps. Your Bushmaster may have an M4 profile but it doesn't have M4 feed ramps. CMMG is probably a good place to pick up an 11.5" barrel......

If you cant find an 11.5 you like get one of Skich's 14.5" Colt SOCOM M4 barrels.

Wait about four more weeks for a CMMG barrel. They have 11.5" barrels in the works with both a medium contour and light weight. 4150, chrome lined, M4 extention, etc. Skich's barrels are awesome too, I have one and love it!

The key thing to understand is that Bushmaster does not use M4 feed ramps on any of its barrels or recievers. If you have an M4 feed ramped upper it is not Bushmaster. None of Bushmasters barrels have M4 cuts either.

Gotcha, I just don't want my first assembly to be FUBAR b/c of something like feed ramps.

No worries on the feed ramps. You can install a barrel with or without feed ramps on your Bushmaster upper receiver and it will not affect function. Conversely, you can not install a barrel without matching M4 feed ramps on an upper receiver with feed ramps. Put simply: No feed ramps on the upper receiver - any barrel will function fine. Feed ramps on the upper receiver - the barrel MUST have matching M4 feed ramps on the barrel extension.

Just wondering why you need M4 feed cuts?
Have my BM M4 and Colt M4 with feed ramps and doesnt make any difference to me. |

I have a Bushy 11.5" with around 8000 rounds (full)...run like a champ !!! and no feedramps
