The .223 mags will work in your 7.62 AR.
I would buy some of the 10 round USA mags from CDNN. [url] www.cdnninvestments.com[/url] They are USA and the company has a poor reputation but I own a few of the 10 round 7.62 AR mags, and they work great. |

A 20 or 30-round USGI mag will work with 7.62x39, but 6 rounds is about the usable limit with either one. The taper of the round will cause it to bind up in the mag if you load more than 6 or so, which is why AK mags are curved so much.
