If it works, it looks like a great idea. In a real combat situation, you don't want tools for gunpart installation/removal.

And in the same combat condition, why would you want to remove the VFG? I swear, I just don't understand the fascination with 'QD' that some folks have...

Well, offhand I would have to say that if the VFG gets broken, you're not gonna want to keep it on.

If your VFG breaks, chances are it ain't 'gonna stay on anyways.

The bottom cap should screw on, not snap on.  its either a b*tch to get off, or will fall off at the most inoportune times.

I have been hard as hell on mine, it hasnt broken yet. in fact I like how my weapon is used and worn in, the Aimpoint is all scratched up along with the rest of the weapon. Still the VFG has taken a beating and hasnt failed me.
