I want to use the accu shot monopod i have on my newly aquried ar15 can i remove that sling ring i think thats what it is called that ring on the buttstock and mount the stud in its place somehow.

If you look in the [url]www.brownells.com[/url] website, there are a couple of companies that make swivel studs that are direct replacements for the stock sling loop; IIRC, Uncle Mike's is one of them.
