I am brand new to AR-15's and am building a buy list. I got most of these parts names from someone else and looked them up and priced them. Can I PLEASE get some help checking this list and what I still need or what is wrong on the list?
Rainier Arms Select™ 5.56MM Barrel - 14.5
Surefire Muzzle Brake
Magpul MOE Collapsible Carbine Stock Kit - Mil-Spec Buttstock, Buffer Tube, Buffer, Spring, Receiver Plate & Lock Nut
AR15 Stripped Lower Receiver
Vortex® StrikeFire Red/Green-Dot Scope
JP Free Float Modular Hand Guard, Full Length for AR-15/M16 type rifle
Ejection Port Cover
Colt Ejection Cover Hinge Pin
COLT - FORWARD ASSIST RETAINER & REAR SIGHT PIN
Looks like you still need:
A stripped upper reciever
A bolt and bolt carrier
A lower Parts Kit
A gas block/gas tube
A barrel nut
Forward assist assembly
Forward assist spring
Ejection cover spring
It would be much easier on you if you bought an upper with forward assist and ejection port cover installed, and a complete barrel assembly.
Also, are you aware of the legalities of owning a 14.5 inch barrel? Unless you register it as a short barreled rifle, you will need to pin and weld the muzzle device to the barrel and ensure that it is at least 16" long. Preferably 16.1" to avoid any measurment issues.
Buy this and a stripped lower.
Or, at least look at what it comes with, which is everything you'll need, minus the stripped lower receiver.
