LaRue mount for Leupold CQ/T

Apparently LaRue made a CQ/T mount but does not offer it any longer. Have any of you used this mount and if so what are your impressions of it.

I am trying to track one down, new or used, but would like some info before I decide to buy one, if I find one.

That is correct. I have used the a CQ/T with an ARMS mount, but never owned one.

There was some time (year +) from when I used a CQ/T with an ARMS mount till I got my hands on a LT CQ/T mount so I know longer remember how they differ in height.

We all know that ARMS levers can become loose on a rail and or just break. So those reasons alone make the LT mount better.

Unfortunately, it really doesn't matter as LT is no longer making the CQ/T mount so people will have to go with the ARMS mount if they want any kind QD capability.

Ah, but having used both you should be able to answer the question as the LaRue is considerably higher.

But on to more imortant things, I ordered a CMT bolt & carrier assembly and a couple of Magpul parts from you at like two o'clock this morning. Here it is like thirteen hours later and I still don't have the stuff. What's the hold up! hacko.gif

I used one more than a year ago and can honestly say that I do not remember the height (memory just isn't that good).

Below is a pic of the ARMS CQ/T mount (think they have made some changes to it since I last saw it). It appears that it is somewhat lower than the LT mount. I think that would be a bad thing as the CQ/T in the LT mount felt like it was at the perfect height.

That's surprising. Seems like most people complain that the scope is too high as it is and putting on a mount that would make it higher would be a turn-off.

Either way... thanks for the input. I wasn't aware they were no longer making the mount for that scope. I haven't had any problems with my ARMS mount but I don't put it through any serious abuse either. I'll probably keep any eye out for the LT mount in case I find it reasonably priced. Never hurts to have a back-up.

Being crouched down on a scope is not something I personally like. I like my head up for better SA.

I don't think there are many of the LT CQ/T mounts out there so they might be difficult to find (good luck). I did however see one on LT's booth at Shot. You might be able to call them and try to ~~bribe~~ buy it from them.
