What is the value of a early model SP-1? Does it depend on the condition?

$900-$1200, depending on condition, and completeness of accessories, including the original cardboard box. Colt people love their boxes, and I've seen one sell for over $100 by itself...
Is the large pin a hindurance?

If you're replacing the upper, then yes. It's workable, but always annoying.
Is a late model pre-ban worth more?

Depending on the exact model, they can be worth MUCH more. Specific models are worth over $2,000 easy, and one model, of which only 134 prebans were made, is worth $4,000+.
In general, the most valuable and desirable will be the "White Labels", as they had Mil-Spec (i.e., small) pivot pins and fire-control pins. They are quite rare, being less than .5% of Colt prebans.
Does it ruin the value to take the original components Such as Triangular hand gaurds, A-1 upper off of it?

Yes, of course; "collectable" items of any type rely on original condition and configuration for their value. But, you can always buy a second complete upper in whatever configuration you like and use that for your shooter. If you decide to sell later on, you can put the original, unmolested upper back on.
