Im wanting to get rid of the flash suppressor on one of my AR uppers should i simply buy one of the scew on thread protectors or send the barrel to adco and have the threads cut of and the barrel target crowned. What do you guys think?

I'd do the thread protector, because at some point you might realize that a muzzle device on an AR is beneficial.

+1 on the thread protector.

It will be cheaper and if you ever have to sell it a threaded barrel will sell better.

Just put a little bit of removable loctite, but not too much.

Thread protector all the way.
