I am looking for the lowest 30mm ring available for mounting an Aimpoint (it's for a non AR application).  I am currently using the Aimpoint "low ring" which positions the bottom of the sight tube about a 1/4 inch above the top of the rail, but I'm wondering if a lower ring is available.  Quick detach not needed.

Thanks!

Check out the "X" ring Aimpoint mount at www.riflescopes.com, IIRC it's the "lowest" mount made, used for the most part to co-witness w/ the irons on those funky RRA "tactical" detachable sights.

Mike, thanks for the response!  That is the ring I am currently using - I was hoping to find something even lower.

I don’t recall anything lower than the Aimpoint X-wide low ring. I’ve used them in carry handle mount applications and the body of the Aimpoint sits millimeters above the rail.

ETA: Photo

This is about as low as you can get for an Aimpoint. Low AimPoint Ring

Thanks for the link!  I have just placed an order for one - it does look lower than the Aimpoint X low ring and is at least cleaner looking without the knurled thumbscrew.

Here is what I'm using it for - to get a CompC3 as low as possible on a modified BP-02 mount for an AK;

Once you get the new ring..........let us know which is lower.

I've had both....the Brownell's vertically split ring is lower.

ETA:But the 10818 "X"ring is more convenient to use.

Will do - will break out the vernier calipers and take some measurements and post the results.

Thanks again for the link - that ring looks perfect!

PS - Quib, how does the Aimpoint work out on the carry handle?  I have an A2 upper as well and have thought of trying this...

I liked it. Some folks will tell you, you’ll get a bad cheekweld. But I personally had no problems with it.

Wow! I don’t know if just the camera angle, but that mount does look lower than the AP x-wide ring.

It looks like it is, and on the Brownell's site too.  I will post the difference in height once I receive the ring.

It is, if you note the difference from the bottom of the front to rail.The cap is true and less than the other mount.
