I purchased 840 rounds of Winchester Q3131A 5.56mm at $7/20 a while back. I have fired 40 rounds of this stuff and it works great. I was wondering if any of you know where to buy more of this stuff? I purchased it at my local gun shop, but I'm having a hard time finding more of it.

Good ammo. IMI M193. Hasn't been imported in quantity for a while. Not any out there on the market really, except for the random stuff found on the shelves of out of the way gunshops (which sounds like how you found it). You got a decent deal at $7 a box.

Q3131 (Winchester US production M193) should perform the same, but you probably won't be able to find any as cheap as $7 a box.

Federal XM193 is probably your best bet. It can be had for a little under $8 a box from a few places online.

All these good deals people are getting seem to be in the ID, UT, MT, OR, SD, ND, and the like in the past few months.

I am getting S&B for 7.50 a box right now and thought that was a good deal.

I haven't seen any in offered new in a couple years. I'm curious what your headstamped date is.

A little less than a year ago I found an obscure dealer online who claimed to have it, but I was shipped Q3131 instead.  The price was comparable to what others were selling '3131 for  at the time.

I had some Q3131a popping primers a while back. It was dated '05. I forget the lot number. Winchester replaced it with Q3131, some .223 and gift certicates.

Good stuff.  Good luck finding more for that price.

Yeah, that's probably one of the top three loads for the good ol' AR-15 in just about any twist configuration. Loaded to 5.56mm pressures and muzzle velocity. Like some of the other boys have mentioned, it's been hard to find over the past few years. I have a secret stash of it too and it's my fav SHTF load.
