I am very impressed! The only thing odd is how weak the M600C was compared to the X300. My M600C's ranged from 165-193L, so there is some variance with Surefire products.

Is this a 4-die unit? What MA is it driven at? Regardless, based on your beamshots, I am VERY tempted to include your product in my next AR-build. It looks like a real barn-burner.

I see that at 6V it is listed at 600L, what is the exact voltage cut-off that it is regulated at, and at 3V, is it running in direct-drive?

Also, the hot-spot looks similar on the X300 to this new head. How does the throw compare? Impossible to tell in room-photos, but out-doors is the throw a lot better with the new head, or is most of the extra light output in the spill? Do you have an LUX readings for this unit?

*Sorry for all the technical questions, but I am highly impressed with this product and think for a MINOR weight penalty over the M600C, it might offer some MAJOR illumination gain in quite the economical package when coupled with a 6PD/LaRue setup. Definitely liking it.

I have been waiting for this for about 2 years.

Will get one for my 500A when I can afford it.

So I could mate one of these to my 6P if I also got the adapter? OMG that would be amazing!!!

It looks like a Malkoff M60 MC-E would look if it had "throw". I am very impressed with this product and WTB as soon as I get a paycheck!

If I were to run one of these units on my 951, could I use a 18650 cell instead of 2 CR123s?

Interesting. I wonder how this handles next to the Lumens factory Seraph P7 turbo head.850 lumens.

All I can say is ! It's like walking around with a sun in your pocket. Recieved mine last week and have been joyfully wasting battery life since then. Next purchase will definetly be a five-way tailcap with strobe!!! I mean who dosen't need a 600lumen storbing pocket LED flashlight that will operate inside the seventh ring of hell!!

PICS:
What is that??4 LEDs

On the G3, for walking around, flashlight duty

On the 6PDefender, slips in an Elzetta mount and rides atop my STAG 16in

It sounds as though you have firsthand experience with the devices, as well as indication of being a PRoC LEO?  Both are favorable.

I ordered up three units today for my regular shooting partner and myself, based significantly on TNVC's historic reputation to only offer for sale top rate gear that has been thoroughly tested.  This appears to be exactly what the M3 that lives in the nightstand with the Glock for things that might go bump in the night, as well as the M96x's have been longing for.  Our expectations are high.

We have no doubts that they will perform well, and TNVC CS has also always been superb over the past several years, even before they have become more well known. Thanks yet again Vic; it was very nice visiting.  Please wish Chip all our best as well.

I'm interested in one of these, but I couldn't help but notice the small gap between the SF body and this TNVC adapter piece.  It appears on both the G3 and the 6P in the pics above.

Is this a fit problem, or do you just not have the adapter screwed down all the way?

I received mine last week and I have been doing nothing but burn up batteries.  This thing is AMAIZING.  It truely is like having the power of the sun in your hands.  Mine is mounted on a Surefire G2 with clicky tail cap and mine does not have any gap between the adapter and the G2 body.  Maybe the ones in the picture above have not been tightened down enough on the O-rings.

Received three of the TX4 whitelight heads yesterday, and they are very impressive so far.

The fit and finish is superb.

The beam is brighter and whiter than the factory incandescents [even the 225], and provides a wider area of coverage without sacrificing throw.  They are also physically slightly smaller.

I have yet to do any livefire tests to assess durability, but would be extremely surprised if they don't hold up.

I will be burning up some 123's over the weekend to validate the runtime claims.

ETA - I forgot the obligatory pic:

That is correct; no adapter needed for the M962.  The heads on the right in my pic above are TX4, M962, M3 respectively.

thanks murderman: compare to the incand SF 225 lumens, can you tell the difference ?
I have 2 M962 so upgrade might be worth it.

Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Ronnie Milsap might even be able to "tell the difference" from the factory MN10/MN11 incandescents.....that is obviously a bit of an exaggeration.

I'll be working with them during tonight's new moon , as well as doing some runtime testing with fresh 123's; will post up my observations.

Nope, my g3 is the momentary only screw cap. Therefore the gap so it is momentary only(tightened down it would be constant on). Next up is the 5-way tailcap with strobe.

I'm interested in ordering one of these units for my M900V but does having such a bright light cause a lot of bounce when used in doors? I would imagine it's pretty hard on your night vision (dilated pupils). Anyone experience this?

I've had this for several months now on my M3 Combatlight and I must say that this is the best LED replacement head out there right now. The color matches the body, the finish is top notch and looks like it's factory from Surefire, and of course it's BRIGHT! I can shine it on the ceiling in my room and the entire room is lit up as if I have the room light on. Outstanding product and at the price, you can't beat it. Highly recommended!

I'd be interested in the answer to this too. I am eyeing one of these units for the M500A that will be going on my "home defense" SBR.

This thing lets me reach out in the dark as far as I can in the day-

Still need to krylon things- my SF came anodized two different colors (bad batch I guess) so I wasn't concerned when black was all TNVC had, just gives the rifle more character-

based on the pictures which hurt my eyes from the brightness, it seems like that much light in close quarters would be more of a hindrance than a help to the shooter...

HOLY SHIT!!!!

I thought that I had it made in the shade when I got one of your Q5 bulbs for my mounted 9P.  We hunt deer, and then as soon as it is no longer legal daylight for deer, I lock on a light and we start hog hunting.  I have shot a few hogs at 200-250 yards with the Q5... but have had some trouble seeing beyond that.  I was just about to bother elzetta and ask them to make a "super throw" bulb that sends a tight hot spot out to 300 yards from a surefire... but this seems to fit the bill with the added benefit of some spill too.

Fine work guys... order placed.

does anybody have one mounted on e seried body?
I was just wondering how it looks...   also how bright is it with 1 primary CR123?

Thanks

Just as bright.  It puts out 600 lumens whether you use a 1, 2, or 3 CR123 cell body.  The only difference as far as I know is run time.

Anyone who is on the fence for this upgrade needs to take the plunge. I had the opportunity to do some more low-light shooting over the weekend, and when the LEOs I was shooting with saw my TX-4 head in action they just about stole it from me My carbine was taken away from me while my buddies put the TX-4 through it's paces. The "professional" consensus was that the throw and spill were perfect for entry work without being overwhelming, yet still appropriate for outdoor work as well. That's pretty tough to pull off from a technical standpoint-most lights are appropriate for one or the other, but not both.

I considered myself extremely fortunate to get it back

Here's mine (top carbine):
