several months ago i saw how someone had successfully drilled out the pins in their post-ban collapsible stock and posted how it was done and what additional parts were needed.

does anybody know where this post went???

i'm obviously looking for something to do over the holiday break, might as well fix my stock.

In most cases, you will also need to mill out the receiver extension (buffer tube), as most of those "fixed-collapsable" stocks were never milled out in that area. Then you will need the parts for the latch.

It would really, REALLY be a lot easier, and not much more expensive for most folks, to just buy a real collapsable stock.

well i figured with the time i'd invest i'd end up in the red, but i'd enjoy the project so i'm going to go ahead and try it anyway.

if it works i'll let ya'll know.

Isn't that a A2 length buffer tube in the faux collapsibles? I do recall mine having a different buffer also.

If this is the case, wouldn't the tube stick out past the end of the stock when collapsed?

I had a post-ban DPMS M4gery with pinned collapsible M4 stock; when the ban expired last year, I drilled out 2 pins and had a perfectly functioning collapsible stock. YMMV.
