Why is a bayonet so important to everyonehear I have seen several bayonet AKs and to me it looks like a circus act prophe.
Im glad my Wasr didn't have one or I would have taken it off anyway.

Because "they" don't want you to be able to have one.

Fuggin-a.  Here in occupied country, we duct tape a swiss army knife to the end.. Just in case.

quite frankly, it's because you can. With no AWB, the  then-banned features are now a hot item. Give it time.... it'll die down again.

With that in mind, i purchased a 590 specifically because of the bayonet lug. Why? well..honestly..shits and giggles. I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

because that is it way it is susposed to be. it pisses me off when the gov says that i cant have the tiny piece of metal that came with my gun.

Because it is a feature commonly found on military weapons along with folding stocks, pistol grips, and flash hiders.  I admist if you go plinking or even hunting these features will have little to no use.  I still want them.

Want being the key word.  I do not need a bayonet lug.  For that matter I don't need a firearm at all.  But I sure do want a lot of them

why would you have taken off a small piece of metal on your rifle?  it doesnt do anything if you dont put a bayonet on, who cares?

dont tell me you're one of those people who think things were better during the ban

I prefer one, because if I am clearing the house in a home invasion or other and some bastard surprises me, I will stick it in his guts and then fire 2 shots.  The shots will not stop him/her immediately, but the feel of the cold steel in their guts will.

Any questions?

The bayonet to us all is a sign of freedom....freedom from stupid ass government laws. We want them because we can have them. Long Live The Bayonet

They're most effective when done from a 4 wheeler on bowling pins.

Zombies.     Pure and simple, they are for zombies.  With a bayonet, if it gets bad and your mag runs dry when they are too close, you can stick them and hold them off while you stick in a fresh mag and reload.  Then you unstick and blast 'em in the head, 'cause everyone knows that's the only way to kill a zombie.

Seriously, if you nod solemnly and say zombies to any question that starts, "Why do you need.....", they quit asking questions.  (Except for that friggen traffic stop.  The damn officer just wouldn't....., but I digress)

I have a 590, with a bayonet all ready to go.  If the S truly does HTF, [aLa the LA riots] I think the bayo and the terrifying sound of a 12 guage slide racking, outht to make looters just run away.  If not, I have a delectable course of fare prepared fo rthem, beginning with rubber slugs and buckshot, escalating to the real thing, and the bayonet as a last resort.  IMHO it's more psychological than anything else..  My CAR-15 has a bayo lug also, but it's useless because of the barrel / FH configuration.  I have thought it would be funny to fit a bayonet to one of those super heavy barrel varmit AR's with the FH loop fitting directly over the bbl, just in case those @#%@#% grassrats get too close...

Why? You mean to tell me that affixing a six inch blade to the end of your rifle doesn't give you a woody?

alot of people collect kalishnikovs and are all about originality, it does make for a nice pic with a bayo

some people are a little weird, (you will probally run into them at the range) wearing a pistol on their hip and shooting a rifle with a bayonet attached.

Ive even seen this one guy charge his target stand and bayonet it with his sks(think he was from baltimore)

anyways, its kinda like jus because you can thing for me anyway. Im more interested in threaded muzzles and folding stocks, they are more functional for me anyway
