i was at the local gunshow (medina, ohio) this morning...saw engineer, charlie...missed waldo and plateshooter in the crowd.

i picked up grips for my browning hi-power and a couple spare magazines and a sling for my remington 513t when what should spy...the ugliest kalashnikov on the planet! actually, a whole freakin' table full of them!!!

ignoring the fact i might go blind, i stared at them...much as one would stare at a bad automobile accident.

yes...a table full of....THOSE!!!

there was absolutely NO stain or varnish on the wood! have the romanians finally figured out we can finish these things better ourselves? heheh!

these are being imported and probably altered by lew horton. yes, the same lew horton that commissioned the browning hi-power gb 'competition' model i posted about on monday.

kinda odd i see lew's add, see the rifles and ken sends me the link in sequence like that!

these were priced at $399 and are nothing more than butchered wasr-10's. the drag-stocked wasr (unbutchered buttsock), converted to hi-cap was priced at $299.

Me and Randall are setting here the Power Custom shop and we can not decide? The more we look at the picture the more we want to start sawing on the drag stocks in the shop....I told you they looked wild.

P.S. we are discussing the Power Custom/RSA calender 6 girls 12 months it will be sweet.

I'll admit my CUR2 still sports it's factory drag-type stock, with the laminated forward pistol grip it's actually comfortable and it's appearance has grown on me over the past 6 years...

But that WASR10 is just as ugly as those MAK90's you see from time to time where the 'thumbhole' section of the buttstock has been removed. I'd gladly pay $100 less for the unbutchered model!

finally...FINALLY!!!...i have found a kalashnikov that is more fugly than a vepr!

in person, these things scream, "I AM SO FUGLY THAT THEY LAUGHED AT ME WHEN THEY PACKED ME IN THE BOX FOR SHIPMENT!".

in person, they look worse than that girl that asked you to the prom.

in person, they make you want to dump 5 gallons of kerosine on the table and light a match.

That is indeed a damn ugly AK. Luckily I have enough non-fugly Romanian's to last me a lifetime. At first I thought you were referring to the Krinkov that I asked you to take a look at. The more I thought about it - the happier I am you talked me out of it.

There were still a few normal pistol grip/buttstock Romanians at the show and prices haven't gotten out of hand yet - they were still going for $320-340.

That is a total laugh! And $400 dollars!?!?!? AHAHAHHAAHAHAHAH, I think I'll save an extra $150 and buy a real AK (SAM-7 or SSR-85).

$70 bucks more and you can get a Global rifle...

only $25 bucks more and you can get one from Vector Arms
And they look a whole lot better than those...

what goes through their mind, to do that to a buttstock? guess they figure Americans will buy just about anything,damn that is ugly......about as ugly as the TAPCO AK buttstock. or the AKs I saw a while ago at the local shows here, that some bubba did some strange color staining on the stocks....this was quite a while ago, he had them in a rainbow of colors, blue green, red, yellow...it looked like shit.

put that kind of stock on a nickle plated AK....and you got something "special"

I waS also at the Medina funshow today,and also saw these Ak's.I was walking past the tables they were on....stoped...and said..what the fcuk?Had to pick one up and convince myself that they were not"broken"that these rifles were "made"that way.Some kind of commie plot here?Had to check and see that my precious bodly fluids were ok.

i KNOW the economy is tight.

i KNOW we americans are hard up for a good deal on ak's.

i KNOW our firearm laws are more than just slightly screwy.

but why, dear gawd, why oh why did a human being that supposedly possessed a brain have to do THIS to a kalashnikov?

i give up!

First, let me say that it is an ulgy AK (IMHO the AMD-65 is uglier). But just look on the bright side. In place of the standard ak buttstock, you get the "new modernized high speed amputated butthole stock" with....... a rubber buttpad, side sling mount and raised cheek weld/piece? Just perfect for Kobra/POSP type applications. Really guys, this is an improvment, not a step backwards. We wanted these changes and just didn't know it.

P.S. is the lenght of pull "commie or american"

Ok, I'm lost.

That WASR has an ugly buttstock on it.

That hardly qualifies it as being an ugly rifle.

Doesn't even bring it close to being as ugly as a VEPR.

That must be the ugliest stock ever to be released on Gods green earth..

's Gonna be an expensive rifle.....599 for the weapon and an added 85-89 dollars for a decent stockset.....

They apparantly tried to do a "sniper" stock on this weapon, 've seen Choate stocks that did the job better in that respect...

kuiper and exmarine, the 'real' price is $309. only $299 if you want it with the standard, unbutchered buttstock.

g-code, this is a standard romanian romak-3/cur-series/wum-series buttstock that has been...uh...er..."altered". the lrngth of pull remains the same.

That stock actually looks like it would be comfortable to shoot, more so then the conventional AK stocks. I don't know why, maybe it's just me, but with a standard stock it always seems like I'm straining to bring my eye in line with the sight.

Hey, they will sell, they prove that here all day long with the 300 yugo sks. Somewhere, somehow, someone will see it, and not having seen one before, will be convinced it was a battlefield pick up from (insert your war here) and buy it for the sticker price. It is absolutely amazing what firearm experts dont have a clue about.

"yeah, Gorbie himself carried that in afghanistan, killed 47 1/2 mujahadeen with it, I can make it auto with a wing nut for a extra 75 bucks under the table"

I wish I could find the picture of the Mak-90 that a guy put a toilet seat "Butt hole stock" on from 2-3 years back...you old guys have seen it, I can't find it.....

I was at the show sunday for three hours (10-1) and I ddin't see this thing. I was loking for it but couldn't find it. I wanted to personally take a look at this "ugly Fvcking kalashnikov". I was looking for cheap AK mags and ammo but never caught sight of one of these, so somebody probably already snatched them up. SO start watching while at the range their probably coming to a neighborhood near you. SOMEONE will have one a bulletfest next year, I just hope they don't shoot a house with the ugly thing.
