I am thinking about selling my Vepr K with a muzzle break to get a AK74 built.  You guys think this is a good idea??  I dont really like the vepr because of the weight and wanted a cartridge similar to 5.56

Keep the VEPR and have someone build you a AK74...........just MHO.

If it makes you happy, then go for it.

You should have heard the crap I caught for selling my AR to fund my saiga .308 project.  You would have thought I committed a mortal sin.  I wasn't nearly as happy with the AR as I am with the Saiga, and I can't afford to hoard every gun I buy "just because".  But I'm probably just weird.

What caliber is your vepr k? 7.62 or 5.45?

7.62X39

I got rid of a VEPR 7.62x39 and picked up an ORF AK-74 in 5.45 in another deal.

I don't regret it a bit.

While the VEPR was nice, it was way too heavy for my taste. The 74 shoots great,
I really like the small caliber round, and I have no regrets.

If you can't afford both, I'd suggest the AK-74....and I would also suggest you pick
one up from Ohio Rapid Fire.

I would have ORF do the build since I already have the kit, the main problem with the vepr is the weight.  My big concern would be is not having a rifle in 7.62X39
