Hi,, I am also taking the plunge, and I am going to go with the extra long muzzle brake because I will have it welded on, less risk of warpage. www.tapco.com has a real nice one for around $20.
This is my first "build", so I could use all the guidance I can get also.shock

I used a single hook for my build, feels good. I also used a "moses" brake from the falfiles.

I used the TAPCO extended brake for my last AMD-65 build, I like the looks of it alot. As for the trigger, I have only used double hooks for my builds, but my SAR-1 has a single hook. The single hook had trigger slap like crazy until I cured it. I would suggest the G2 fire control group that TAPCO sells, either single or double hook, it is a super fcg for the price.
