So I see these all the time on gunbroker. I'm looking for an AK (wood furniture) for just messing around with at the range. Reasonable accuracy would be nice. Something that won't fall apart. Are these AKs ok for what I want?

Doc,

Romy's are good rifles. Campy is correct on finish & trigger group. I have 7 Romy's & have a great time shooting them all. I've got 7.62, 5.45 & .223. They are all good performers & I will add more to my collection.

bought one at the gun store with two 40 round mags, LULA, and 500 rounds for $440. How'd I do? It looks like a POS but that's what I expected. I don't want it as a safe queen anyway. I'll probably refinish the wood though.

unfortunately I'm in PA right now so I got some relatives who will be looking after the house for Ivan. I'm on edge to say the least

Romy's are great gizmos. Get a few. Remember it's an AK, not an AR. Shoot accordingly.
